Today I want to talk about my internship and what experiences I made.
I did my internship at the Aldiana Club Salzkammergut. My task area was the main restaurant and the bar and sometimes I worked in the spa. The hotel is situated in Bad Mitterndorf. There are many mountains and most importantly the Grimming which is the “house mountain” there.
The hotel has a great offer of facilities like a volleyball field, a fitness centre, a wellness area and much more. I would recommend relaxing in the wellness area and in the evening, you can go to the main restaurant where the hotel provides a huge buffet. Nearly every day there is a show in the theatre bar.
My tasks were that I had to work in the “Stüberl” at “Jausenzeit” and during breakfast, and during dinner, I had to work in service at the main restaurant. I worked 8-9 hours a day and my shifts were either from about 8:00 in the morning until 22:30 in the evening with a break from 14:00 to 22:30, or from 13:00 to 22:00 when I worked in the bar.
The atmosphere was very friendly. But it wasn’t until the last month. For the first two months I struggled with the other employees, but after that, it felt like everybody was friends with each other. In the bar, the atmosphere was embossed by the temper of some barkeepers but they were always very funny and the kindest people I met there. My co-workers were there for me and helped me out when I had problems or when I was feeling bad.
